Four New Food Halls to Explore in Toronto

With four openings since the fall of 2023, Toronto's new food halls bring together dining and licensed beverage spots from established local vendors alongside plucky upstarts. Here’s what to expect at Toronto’s newest food halls.

Waterworks

You’ll find the city’s newest food hall located in a pretty old location dating back to the 1800s (it was once used for maintenance and storage of waterworks equipment, hence the name). In 2024, after extensive renovations, Waterworks re-opened as a food hall with space for 20 vendors including Aburi Sushi, stuffed naan from Karak and Vietnamese snacks from Vit Beo. There’s also a second-floor space which can be rented out for private events.

Wellington Market

Head to the basement of The Well, a new office, retail and residential complex at Front and Spadina, to find over 50 food merchants including a few Toronto favourites like Isabella’s mochi donuts and La Cubana. There’s also a central bar space serving up beer, wine and cocktails. Eager for some great tunes to pair with your dining experience? Head to Wellington Market on Friday evenings for their Night Market DJ series.

Queen’s Cross

As a complement to the Eaton Centre’s classic food court space, Queen’s Cross offers up 13 unique food stalls along with two rotating pop-ups. The space is operated by Oliver & Bonacini, an established hospitality group in the city. Some of the concepts here are riffs on existing O&B restaurants, like dim sum and soup dumplings at Lil’ Rebel (helmed by R&D’s Eric Chong) and Latin snacks from Lala’s Cantina, which is an offshoot of Leña.

Table Food Hall

The city’s most central food hall, located on the fourth floor of the newly opened CIBC Square, Table Food Hall currently has seven vendors serving up quick meals in an elegant space. When the weather’s good, you can head to the large outdoor terrace with views of the CN Tower while enjoying your Aloette Go burger or Thai meal from Chaiyo by Pai al fresco.
